GEAR REVIEW: DARN (F***ING) TOUGH SOCKS

I don't know if you've ever fallen in love with a pair of socks, but trust me, after you try on these bad boys you're going to kick those babies to the curb. I first discovered Dark Tough socks about 2 years ago when I bought my first pair at REI. Since then my collection has grown to many pairs, all of which I still own. First, lets briefly go over the pros:

-they feel like two lambs are cuddling your feet all day

-you can wear just them anywhere...even hiking up a mountain or scrambling up a waterfall (both of which have been tested and proven)

-they are warm when its cold and cool when its hot

-you can wear them 3 days in a row without making your camping buddy faint, or even mildly complain

-LIFETIME WARRANTY

Sliding on these socks is like wrapping your foot in a cushy blanket. The merino wool is soft and comfortable while being airy and able to wick away sweat. Because they are so breathable and dry quickly, these socks don't smell bad after a few days. Darn Tough socks are made with spandex and lycra, which keeps them from slipping down or stretching out. They are also thick enough to provide comfort and protection without being too bulky. Around your foot and ankle are compression panels which provide additional support along with thicker toe and heel pads. The best feature of these socks, however, is the lifetime warranty-if you are able to wear holes in these socks, send them back and receive a new pair for free!

If you are searching for your first pair, I highly recommend going with the hiking series for an all around good camping sock. My favorite cut is called micro crew...just enough to protect your boots from filling up with pesky pebbles but not too long as to cover those calves. Pro tip: if you can fit into kids sizes (any size up to a women's 6/men's 4), then I would recommend those-you'll see a nice $4 in savings.
